Keko Virán and the road to Havana
In 2001, Keko Virán travelled to Cuba to meet his idols from the Buena Vista Social Club: Compay Segundo, Ibrahim Ferrer and Cachaíto López.
That journey became Kekoson, a Melbourne band built to research and play Afro-Latin rhythms on a strong traditional Cuban Son foundation, and to have a lot of fun doing it.
